Le savais-tu? In France there are about 3.5 million two-wheelers, a third of them are scooters. Purists will say that scooters are not motorcycles, and they are right. Motorcycles are mainly used for leisure, whereas scooters are mainly used for urban and professional travel. The scary figure is that two-wheelers represent 1.8% of the traffic and 24% of the fatal accidents in France! (road safety figures)
