C’est la liste du lundi 6 décembre 2021. Here are your 10 French words of the day about l’arbre de Noël. Love Learning Languages offers these quick French vocabulary lists or 10 Mots du Jour every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Each set follows a different theme, today the 10 French vocabulary words are about l’arbre de Noël Plus, you’ll get a spoken sentence about the topic and a “did you know” paragraph in French to practice your comprehension. Short sweet tasks to improve your French!

Did you know? There are two types of Christmas trees in France, Nordmanns and spruces. Of course there are also plastic trees, but we are not really interested in fake trees!  Nordmanns are more robust trees than spruces, they are also more expensive, but they will not lose (or much less) their needles once installed in your warm living room. It is quite possible to buy a nice tree from a grower. I buy mine from a producer in the Montagne Noire in the South of France. This means that the tree is grown, then cut and sold immediately, it has not traveled much and has not been stored in cold storage rooms for weeks like those you find in supermarkets for example. Some people will prefer an artificial tree and it is very practical, but less authentic and it is not better for the environment, quite the contrary. Did you put up a Christmas tree this week? Get this reading comprehension in French, one of the great perks when you become a Patreon member – These paragraphs also will give you a useful glimpse into French way of life and culture 🙂

With LLL, each week you get 3 downloadable lists of the words in French and English, a “Did you know?” in French and a Quizlet study set to learn, practice, and master them all. Quizlet is a platform for learning vocabulary that’s based on flashcards, but what has really made an impression on me is how fun it makes learning new language content! Click here for details.
