Savoir vs Connaître
Savoir or connaître? Which one should you use?
If you’ve ever hesitated before saying “I know” in French, you’re not alone. Both savoir and connaître mean “to know” in English, but they’re used in different situations. For example, you’d say Je sais parler français (“I know how to speak French”) but Je connais Paris (“I know Paris / I’m familiar with Paris”).
In this lesson, I’ll explain the difference in clear terms, give you plenty of examples, and share a short video to make it all stick. By the end, you’ll feel more confident choosing the right verb every time.
