How do I access course materials?
- All course materials will be stored in a Google Classroom. A link to join the Google Classroom will be emailed to you a few weeks prior to our first class, no later than August 15th.
- Once you have accepted the invitation to your Google Classroom, you will be directed to the “stream” page. This is where announcements are made, and it’s a place where you can communicate with Jennifer and other students in your class.
- In your Google Classroom, you will need to click on “classwork” at the top of the page to view your assignments and to access all course materials.
- Weekly course content is published seven days prior to our next online class.
How long will I have access to course materials?
- You will have permanent access to all course materials so that you can always go back and review lessons and retake quizzes.
What if I miss a class?
- Of course, it’s best for you if you can manage to attend our weekly sessions, but if you have to miss one or even several, that’s ok. Try to stay on top of the weekly classwork, and you’ll be ready to pick up and join the group when it fits your schedule.
Are the weekly in person classes mandatory, or can I complete the course on my own?
- You definitely have the option of completing the course on your own. All courses are designed for self-study. The in person sessions with Jennifer and the group are supplementary, meant to give you a chance to practice, to be part of a group, to make friends, and to ask clarifying questions.
What can I expect from our weekly classes?
- 80 minute classes are scheduled once a week on Tuesdays. Jennifer will be present along with other members of your class. In each week’s course materials you will have a set of “practice cards”. Have these cards available and ready to use during our classes, because we will work through them together. You do not need to print them out unless you want to. Everyone will take turns with the cards. Jennifer will point out important grammar tips and will help with pronunciation. Our classes will be stress free and lots of fun! You will enjoy learning French in a relaxed environment.
