Did you know ? The French national holiday, called July 14, is a public holiday in France since 1880 to commemorate the storming of the Bastille on July 14, 1789, symbolizing the end of the monarchy. Traditionally a large military parade is organized on the Champs Elysees in Paris in front of the President. Dances and fireworks take place everywhere in France on the 13th or 14th in the evening. Happy National Day! and long live France!
